Eridan x Reader - Cold Weather

You have always loved the outdoors. Especially in winter. Best of all, you were walking with your good friend, none other than Eridan Ampora.

Everything around you was covered with a soft, white blanket of snow, and icicles the size of a meter were hanging from the edges of buildings. The sky was cloudy as it continued to snow. Many would of preferred to stay inside and sleep in. But days like this were rare, so of course, you called up Eridan first thing in the morning and told him to meet you outside.

So, what could POSSIBLY ruin this perfect day? The answer was simple: You were really fucking cold. No, you mean you were REALLY. FUCKING. COLD.

How come you were so cold and didn't wear a jacket or something? It was all Eridan's fault. Let's go back and see what caused you to be in this unfortunate position.

~~~FLASHBACK FROM... NOT THAT LONG AGO~~~

You jumped up out of your bed and eagerly looked out of your bedroom window. YES! It was snowing. It was rare it ever snowed this much near you. You wanted to just run outside and play in the snow at once, but you figured you'd call your best friend, moirail as they call it, to meet up with you.

You reached over to your bedside table and grabbed your phone, quickly dialing Eridan's number.

"Wwhat is it, _____?" he said, clearly just waking up.

"Did you look outside? It's fucking SNOWING!" you exclaimed happily.

"Oh yeah.... wwe nevver got snoww on Alternia. It's pretty cool, I suppose." he said.

"Well, it's pretty fun to play in! I was actually calling to see if you wanted to meet me outside so we could have a snowball fight or something." you said, completely ignoring the fact that you were much to old for snowball fights.

"Alright, I'll meet you ovver there in half an hour. Bye." he said. You could tell he was excited, just by the way he talked.

"Bye!" you practically screamed into the phone because hey.... it's snowing!

After your conversation with Eridan ended, you threw on a sweater over your t-shirt and put some pants on. Yeah, you were super excited you'd be spending the day with your best friend. (and secret crush too, but he'd never have to know) Yeah, you guess you may as well admit to yourself that you started to like the troll a bit more than just "friends", but someone would have to pay you to say it out loud.

You dashed downstairs and fixed yourself some hot cocoa. You were just about to take a sip when you heard something come from the entryway. Probably just some snow falling off the roof you though. YOU THOUGHT.

After you finished your hot drink, you put some snow boots on and absconded. To the entry way to get your jacket.

Once you got into the room, you reached to get your jacket simply to find it wasn't there. Great.

"Looking for this?" came Eridan's voice behind you nearly making you fall down from shock.

"Hey, gimmie my jacket!" you said, jumping to get it.

"Wwell, I wwould but.... wwhatevver!" He said darting through the door and outside. Taking your jacket with him.

You just stood there for a moment and questioned why you even liked him. Then the realization of the fact that he just stole your jacket and ran outside hit you and you chased after him on a very treacherous journey to fetch that dumb jacket.

As you started running down the street after him, you noticed the roads were completely iced over! No way in hell would you be able to catch up without falling down every 2 seconds! Ampora though wasn't as clever, seeing as he slipped and fell cursing under his breath.

Him falling down gave you plenty of time to catch up, and just when you were about to get that damned jacket back he stood up and threw it. He fucking threw it into oblivion, you swear. And it got stuck in a tree. A really TALL TREE.

"Eridan. Ampora. Why the hell did you just throw that into a tree?" You asked him.

"Obvviously so you couldn't havve it!" he said laughing.

And so you proceeded to yell at him the most anyone has dared to yell at anyone in paradox space.

~~~FLASHBACK OVER. WOW THAT WAS A VERY LONG FLASHBACK LIKE WHAT EVEN???~~~

So here you were currently in this unfortunate position. Cold, tired, and a bit mad at your best friend.

That's when an idea struck you. You would get revenge. As... all good friends do.  

You reached out in a flash and took his scarf and ran as fast as you could go, avoiding the roads of course.

"Wwhat th- ______ WWHY WWOULD YOU TAKE MY GLUBBIN SCARF??!?!?" He yelled back at you.

And then he chased you, him having an advantage because he was a faster runner than you.


Once he caught up to you he grabbed your wrist and turned you around to face him. He held a firm grip on your wrist to make sure you weren't going anywhere. (which made you blush but you would just blame it on the weather)

"Givve me my scarf back right noww." he said, looking directly at you.

"Fine, but only if you get my jacket down from that damn tree!" you said in return.

He let out a sigh. "Okay, fine. But if I'm climbing all the wway up into that fuckin tree, I should be the one getting something in return." he said.

"And that would be...?" you said, curious as to what he had planned.

"You'll find out evventually." he said, smirking. Oh dear god.

~~~TIMESKIP BECAUSE TIME SOMETIMES SKIPS. BLEH.~~~

"I'm tossing it dowwn, be ready to catch it." he yelled down to you from the tree.

"Okay okay, just throw it down already!" you said getting impatient of the fact that it was freezing cold out.

Eridan threw the jacket at you which you easily caught. Then he started to descend from the highest point in the tree. After a few minutes, he finally got to the ground.

"There. Noww you havve your glubbin jacket back." he said.

"Thanks, even though it was YOUR fault." you say laughing. You were feeling much better now that your had that specific article of clothing that makes people feel very happy. The jacket.

"Noww.... I believve we had a deal that I wwould get something in return too?" he said.

"Alright, what is it that you want?" you said.

He walked close to you until he was a few inches from you.

"Wwhat do you think?" he asked.

"I dunno!? How am I supposed to know what it is you wa-"

You were cut off instantly as Eridan's lips met your own. You were shocked, really! Does this mean he.... liked you back all along? (nah, really?) You kissed back passionately and moved your arms to loop around his neck. He moved his arms down to your waist. You felt his tongue lick your lip asking for entrance which.... eh why not? His tongue entered your mouth as he held you tighter. Then you broke apart for air. He was a seadweller or whatever he said he was and didn't really need air.

"Umm, _______, this is probably a bad time to ask, but wwould you like to be my matesprite?" he said blushing and looking down.

You just started laughing then pulled him in for a quick kiss.

"Of course! I'd love to!" you said, smiling up at him.


And so for the rest of the day you and Eridan played in the snow (even though you were much too old) and you proceeded to have one of the best days of your life.
